As soon as I hear the words “if” in any sentence involving my lifestyle plans, I know am giving myself an out.  Abraham-Hicks call it “arguing for your limitations”.  I have noticed that if my willingness is conditional, so are the results.

There are some self-created roadblocks in my life that I can easily work around.  For example, I don’t like to manage people, so I picked a career where I don’t have to.  OK, so I chickened out, but I didn’t think it would have a major negative impact on my life, and for sure I have bigger character fish than that to fry.  Some of my roadblocks in the areas of food or exercise though make it really challenging or seriously jeopardize my ability to reach my health goals at all.

I have noticed that when it is worth it to me, I make the stretch.  I have stretched for plenty of things that I probably shouldn’t have, Lord knows.  On the bright side, making the stretch has often led to other unanticipated good directions and new behaviors that I never would have foreseen had I not made the reach.
