Nutritional Basics – I have to find the appropriate eating plan for me.  A few years ago, I decided to throw caution to the wind and go crazy on the Induction part of the Atkins diet.  Of course, it was never his intention for anyone to “go crazy” and drown themselves in animal fat, or for that matter to live on the Induction phase, but I thought “What the heck.  Let’s just see what happens.”  I gained four pounds in three days.  That’s what happens when you drink quarts of cream in diet root beer.  But here’s my point:  I was in a great mood.  I felt benevolent, chuckling at things that would normally annoy me…kumbaya and all that.  What I learned about myself from that very valuable experience is that I feel better on a lot more fat than I had eaten for probably the low-fat crazed last 20 years.  Turns out, a few short years later, Grain Brain, by Dr. David Perlmutter (among others) explains this biochemical “phenomenon”.  I just needed to make it a better mix of fats. Do you know what mix of proteins, fats and carbs works for you?

    no i do not, consequently, i spend the hours from 6;30 to 11:00 p.m.
    trying, and mostly failing, to not eat everything in my house. fortunately i’ve
    taken some of your recommendations and have very little bad to eat stuff in
    my house but i still manage to put something together. UGH!!
